Five things worth sharing from the last week or so, brought to you by a different member of the Browser Media team every Friday.

1. Run, Run, Rudolph
At Browser Media, we’re a relatively healthy bunch (except perhaps in the last few days where sugary snacks have disappeared faster than you can say Jamie Oliver). However, we do have some serious gym addicts in our midst and so this first item seems fairly apt.
A London runner has been using his GPS tracking device to ‘draw’ festive pictures.
As in previous My Fives, I’m a big fan of applying technology in slightly unorthodox ways.
2. Sea Sick – on Air
For those of you recovering from rather too much Christmas excess, you’ll have empathy with my next choice. BBC Weatherman, Tomasz Schafernaker, doesn’t quite make it to the end of the shipping forecast the morning after the BBC Christmas party, and a colleague has to step in and take over.
As many newspapers were keen to point out, it was the first time in 91 years that the shipping forecast has been interrupted.
Far from being an exceptional turn of events, it seems that YouTube is brimming with clips of Schafernaker’s on-air gaffes.
3. Game On
So presumably if you’re reading this you didn’t get your holiday allocation in early enough and you’re down to the last few, keeping the economy going on the last office-based working day before Christmas?
All is not lost… EuroOffice has collated all the freebie games available within Google, so you can enjoy a bit of retro-gaming during your last few hours at work. Unfortunately, I’m old enough to remember Atari Breakout and Pac-man first time round but the more erudite, Smartpins is new and equally addictive.
Tip: turn your volume down if you don’t want to get caught by the boss.
4. You’ve cat to be kitten me right meow
Continuing the theme of cats, which regular readers will know is something of a thang here, you might be interested in a launch by the SPCA (US version of RSPCA) which allows your moggie to take its own selfie.
Your feline friend doesn’t even need your help as long as you download and pay for the app first. Once you’re up and running, the app plays looping animations designed to appeal to a cat, including fish and mice, and when the cat is nearby, sensed by custom cat facial recognition technology, the camera takes the selfie unaided. Genius.
For every $1.99 spent on downloading the app, $1 goes towards supporting homeless kitties in SPCA shelters.
