My Five: Five things worth sharing from the last week (or so), brought to you by a different member of the Browser Media team every Friday.
This week’s My Five is by Roland.
1. Death of Brian from Family Guy
Family Guy fans out there are shocked and in mourning after watching this week’s episode where one of their beloved characters Brian, the Griffin family dog, was killed in a car accident. Social networking sites, such as Twitter went into a huge meltdown, as the show’s regular viewers tweeted about it;

2. Facebook app that helps you grieve
Sanctri recently announced that they have launched an app for Facebook that could help people grieve over the loss of a loved one by creating a memorial page. Revealing more on Mashable, Sanctri announced that;
‘Facebook doesn’t offer any tools to mourn but with our digitally intertwined lives there is a need for a virtual destination to remember friends and family’.
Perhaps the ideal solution for all those Family Guy fans grieving over the death of their beloved Brian Griffin.
3. Black Friday
So for those that don’t know, today is Black Friday. What’s Black Friday? I’ll tell you. It’s the day after Thanksgiving when millions of shoppers queue to snap up thousands of deals on offer in shops. If you’re still unsure as to what it is, have a look at this article written by the BBC.
What does it have to do with the UK and how does this affect us? Slowly it’s becoming more and more popular with big brands, like ASDA (sister company of Wal-mart), promoting a variety of special offers in-store to kickstart the Christmas buying frenzy. Despite the UK’s fondness for the January sales, it’s safe to say in the coming years we can expect more companies to get involved.
4. The epic Van-Damme splits
Volvo Trucks recently released an ad to demonstrate the stability and precision of Volvo Dynamic Steering, starring Jean Claude Van Damme. Remarkably the ad has outperformed the much-loved John Lewis Christmas ad after it was shared over 2.6 million times in total.
If you aren’t one of the 54 million that have viewed the ad, check it out below;
5. Dance Off!
Lastly, have a look at this unbelievable dance off at a basketball game where during break, the dance-cam goes back and forth between a young fan and an usher. Enjoy!
