My Five: Five things worth sharing from the last week (or so), brought to you by a different member of the Browser Media team every Friday.
This week’s My Five is by Roland.
1. Browser baby!
We would like to say congratulations to Matt, one of our Senior Account Managers, who became the proud father to a baby girl this week. We thought this would be appropriate…
2. Ben Affleck as the new Batman?
If you spent any time on Twitter last weekend, you probably would have been aware of several things. Firstly, cats are still a massive thing on the internet and secondly Ben Affleck has been announced as the next Batman.
Fans around the world have been expressing their feelings through Twitter. People are unhappy about him getting the role after the last superhero movie he starred in, Daredevil, which was so bad that Affleck was awarded the Worst Actor at Golden Raspberry awards.
We want to know your opinion, do you think Affleck has what it takes to play Batman?
3. Miley Cyrus at VMA’s performance?
For those who missed the VMA awards on Sunday, Miley Cyrus stole the show and had everybody talking about it. Whether she was stripping to her underwear, grinding on Robin Thicke, or twerkin, she left some jaws on the floor (and not in a good way).
4. Twitter buys Trendrr
It was announced yesterday that Twitter bought social TV analytics firm in a bid to capitalize on users discussing TV shows on its social network.
For those who don’t know, Trendrr creates big data social analytics products for TV and media brands, including Curatorr, which allows clients to curate tweets for broadcast, or analyse discussions on social networks to create ranking lists or voting systems.
This the latest in a line of purchases made by Twitter that focus on targeting TV advertising at users. It also made a move into directly influencing the outcome of television shows in January, with a test of a voting service carried out during an episode of “Hawaii Five-0”.
5. Happy Friday!
At Browser we love clips of cats, so here is a compilation of the greatest cat vines. It’s five minutes you won’t regret.
