1. Innocent boss makes a blunder
The boss at Innocent drinks made a bit of a blunder this week and changed the company Instagram profile picture to one of their wedding.
Needless to say, Innocent drinks (and Specsavers) are not letting it go unnoticed:

2. New Google Shopping for cars
Google has announced the launch of Google Shopping for vehicles in the US. This will work much like Google Shopping, but allows car sellers to create an inventory list and link it with Google Merchant Center to create shopping ads for their vehicles.
This is something that is launching in the US first but is set to roll out across the globe later on, so watch this space.
3. Bye, bye to some of Meta’s detailed targeting options
The roll out started in January of this year but this week (17th March 2022) saw the end of some existing ad sets being able to use those detailed targeting options.
“We’re removing some Detailed Targeting options because they are either not widely used, they may be redundant with others or too granular, or because they relate to topics people may perceive as sensitive, such as targeting options referencing causes, organizations, or public figures that relate to health, race or ethnicity, political affiliation, religion, or sexual orientation.”
So our remarketing web visitor audiences have shrunk due to the iOS 14 update and now they are removing some detailed targeting options. Whatever next? I know some of our clients could be badly affected by this update, will you?
4. Google announces the demise of UA in late 2023
An official tweet from Google Ads Product Liaison, Ginny Marvin, announced this week that Google Analytics Universal will be going in the second half of 2023, in favour of its new product Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
Now's the time to create a Google Analytics 4 property for your site. Universal Analytics will sunset in H2 2023. At a minimum, setting up your GA4 property now ensures you start collecting data for historical reference. But there’s much more to GA4 1/3 https://t.co/5kg5zRf7Kr

5. Asteroid half the size of a giraffe strikes near Iceland
This actually happened last week, but as I only heard about it this week I thought I’d include it. An asteroid, named Asteroid 2022 EB5, came to Earth and burnt up in the atmosphere between Greenland and Norway, just 2 hours after it was discovered.
Even if the object had hit the Earth, it wouldn’t have done a lot of damage as it was only 10ft wide, roughly half the size of a giraffe.
Now, this quite serious and scientific news story has led people to comment online about the scientists’ very un-scientific size comparison. It’s quite difficult to imagine half a giraffe, is it not? Which way are they halfing it; vertically or horizontally?
